Premier League bias surely confirmed with disgraceful stat against Everton

Everton have been served yet another massive sense of injustice as a shocking table of the number of red cards given to teams and their opponents has been released.

Thankfully, Frank Lampard led the Blues to Premier League survival in their penultimate game against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park last week.

Their brilliant 3-2 saw the Blues breathe a huge sigh of relief and take their foot off the gas against Arsenal as they were hammered 5-1 at the Emirates – not that anyone cared.

A host of controversial decisions have gone against the Toffees this season which only seemed to increase the more their relegation crisis worsened.

The Merseysiders are first in the red card table with sending offs with – the same number as Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Chelsea combined.

To top that off, Everton were joint bottom of the table that showed red cards for their opponents with nobody being sent off against the Blues all season.

Farce.

To think that the Blues haven’t had an opposition sent off against them all season long is outrageous.

You think back to the Rodri handball denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity at Goodison Park, Joel Matip doing the same at Anfield, and the Shelvey incident against Newcastle – which in the same game Allan was sent off for a tackle that gets overlooked nine times out of ten.

It would be a stretch to say there is a conspiracy against the Toffees but time and time again there are stats released like this that show just how hard they are done by.

To stop this, the players need to start holding themselves accountable. That is very difficult when you have stupid decisions that go against you but they can’t give the referee’s a chance of making those calls.

Lampard needs to restore the discipline within this squad that hasn’t been there for quite some time if they have any hopes of being somewhat successful.
