Everton fans will love plethora of flops mooted for potential exits in summer

Journalist Chris Smith has revealed a plethora of Everton players that could leave the club in the summer transfer window and they will all be music to the supporters’ ears.

Everton had a terrible 2021/22 season as they came as close as they ever have been to being dumped out of the Premier League despite spending hundreds of millions under clueless owner Farhad Moshiri.

Fighting against Leeds United and Burnley right until their penultimate game of the season against Crystal Palace served as stark proof of just how bad of a state the Blues are in.

With the squad coming under serious scrutiny for quite some time now, 90min jouirnalist Smith has detailed several players who might be on their way out of Goodison Park and not one of them would be overly missed.

He said on Twitter: “Allan, Michael Keane, Andre Gomes, Tom Davies, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Andros Townsend and Salomon Rondon are all players Everton are willing to entertain offers for this summer, I’m told per source.

“Obviously not all will go as squad depth is needed.”

Flops.

It is nearly impossible to pick any of the players from that list who deserve to stay with the Toffees.

Many Everton fans would pay for Michael Keane, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Andros Townsend and Salomon Rondon to leave the club – that is how bad they are.

There is a case for Tom Davies with him still being fairly young and a local lad but the Englishman is constantly injured and when he does play – very inconsistent.

Similarly, with Barcelona reject Andre Gomes. The Portugal international has struggled to make his mark on this Blues team despite being one of the more senior players in the squad since 2019.

The only strong case for any of the flops is for Allan. The former Napoli ace has fallen to the waistline since Frank Lampard arrived but he has done a good job in the middle of the park for the Toffees.

However, given his age [31] and the fact that the former Chelsea boss’ style of play doesn’t flatter him – he will most likely rarely feature next season.

That is of course if Lampard can bring in the younger, hungrier, better quality players that he will be desperate for in the summer.
