League One club ready to make permanent move for Everton’s Nathan Broadhead
Sunderland are preparing a permanent deal for Everton striker Nathan Broadhead, a Stadium of Light chief has suggested.
Broadhead has enjoyed an excellent loan spell at the Stadium of Light and was a key part of their promotion from League One.
Black Cats Sporting Director Kristjaan Speakman revealed that talks with Everton are imminent.

As quoted by the Northern Echo on Thursday [26 May], Speakman said: “We will have a conversation with Everton this week, to see where they are at with it, and where we are with it, and see if that’s aligned.”
Speakman added: “We have to respect the fact that he is an Everton player.
“We have seen him as our player for the year because we had to get the best out of him but now that the season is finished he, unfortunately, goes back to being an Everton player.”
Good move
This looks like a good move which suits both parties.
With Sunderland securing promotion against Wycombe Wanderers in the League One playoff final and Everton remaining a Premier League club, a now move looks more likely.
Broadhead is too good to be sat on the bench at a Premier League club, but is also too good to be playing League One football next season.
He is a Championship striker in the making and with Sunderland’s promotion, a move to Wearside looks ideal.

The Welshmen has a year left on his current Everton deal and it seems unlikely that he will be given a new deal at Goodison Park.
If the Toffees had succumbed to relegation then he could’ve been part of their Championship plans.
At 24 another loan spell looks extremely unlikely for Broadhead.
Furthermore, the Toffees will also be able to recoup a small fee for the academy graduate.
This is a move that will suit everyone involved.
