Everton duo named in Premier League top ten strikers for 2021/22 campaign

Everton duo Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been named in the top ten strikers in the Premier League for the 2021/22 campaign.

GIVEMESPORT used the WhoScored website to rank every striker in the English topflight from first to last.

To be eligible for ranking – they must have played over 500 league minutes, predominantly as a striker.

Despite being injured for most of the season, Calvert-Lewin ranked ninth highest with a rating of 6.92 – trumping the likes of Roberto Firmino, Romelu Lukaku and Alexander Lacazette.

Richarlison ranked sixth highest with a score of 6.96 with the Brazillian getting the better of Jamie Vardy and Michail Antonio.

The top three were made up of Harry Kane [7.45], Ivan Toney [7.28], and Gabriel Jesus [7.20].

Carried.

What would Everton do without Richarlison – in particular this season – and Calvert-Lewin?

For years now the duo have carried the Blues on their backs being their best performers by quite some distance.

In terms of attackers, nobody can get near them. However, Anthony Gordon is giving it his best shot.

The Scouser will have a few more years of learning his trade and becoming more ruthless with his end product before he reaches his senior counterparts’ levels though.

Richarlison carried the Toffees over the line to avoid relegation at the back end of last season when Frank Lampard’s side looked down and out.

A series of impressive performances and goals from the 24-year-old saw the Merseysiders completely turn their fortunes around.

Calvert-Lewin making the top ten is quite a surprise but it only emphasises what he does for the team when he does play.

It is impossible to say whether or not either of them will be playing their football at Goodison Park next season but one thing is for certain if they are, they need serious backup.
