Everton ace Anthony Gordon sends Carlo Ancelotti ‘incredible’ message after beating Liverpool

Anthony Gordon has sent former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti a congratulatory message after his Real Madrid side beat Liverpool in the Champions League final.

The Italian abandoned his post at Goodison Park after just 18 months into his four-year contract to join Los Blancos back in 2019 [Sky Sports].

It was a move that left many Evertonians shocked and disappointed amid what was set to be a major rebuild and if they aren’t over it already – him stopping the Reds from winning in Paris will ease that pain.

Gordon said on Twitter: “Congratulations to Mr Ancelotti and Davide, an incredible journey to win the way they did.”

Pay back.

What a great end to the season that was. Everton survives relegation and Liverpool misses out on the two big boys.

There is no denying that the Blues’ Merseyside rivals had a great season but you would much rather they win two trophies instead of four.

It is funny because the season started with the Reds claiming agent Benitez was taking the Toffees down but it ended with agent Ancelotti stopping them from winning the Champions League.

Everton

It was a huge shame that he left Everton when he did – he left the Blues in the lurch when they seemingly needed him the most.

You can say his departure was the catalyst to all of the mess the Goodison Park outfit has been in over the last year or so but they are – hopefully – past that now.

Make no mistake, Liverpool’s misfortune doesn’t give Everton success but it was very nice to see a former Toffee beat them on the main stage – especially after his comments about the Blues prior to the match.
