Everton not in the running to sign Chelsea defender Levi Colwill
Everton are not currently in the running for Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.
The 19-year-old spent a successful loan on Huddersfield Town during the recently concluded campaign.
Those performances did not go unnoticed and therefore, it was reported earlier that the Toffees were eyeing a move for Colwill ahead of the next season.

However, as per the latest development, Everton may be out of the race to sign the young centre-back.
The decision seems a surprising one considering that the report stated that Chelsea might be open to letting Colwill leave on loan to a Premier League club in order to get more game time under his belt before representing his parent club.

Commanding defender
With his performances at Huddersfield, Levi Colwill has truly shown his parent club that he has everything in his locker to become a squad member of Chelsea’s first team.
In the 29 appearances he had in the Championship, he scored two goals and made one assist, showing that he is influential offensively as much as defensively.
Most importantly, he only had five bookings to his name this entire season, which shows that he doesn’t have disciplinary issues. He has fantastic speed and can be lethal in stopping counterattacks and making vital interceptions.
In the 21/22 Championship, Colwill made 1.7 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per match, which is the highest in the club this season. Moreover, he made 4.3 clearances per match, which is also the best output by any Huddersfield player in this category.
Those numbers are a testament to Colwill’s talent and it was no surprise why former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, who is currently managing Everton, was keen on signing the youngster.
