Sky Sports journo tips Everton to sell one of two stars to fund rebuild
Sky Sports journalist Ben Grounds has tipped Everton to sell either Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer transfer window.
Frank Lampard and his did “superbly” in keeping the Blues in the Premier League and uniting the club with its fans after Rafa Benitez’ toxic exit.
The hardship isn’t over yet though with the former Chelsea boss potentially needing to sell one of his best players to fund the Toffees’ rebuild.

Grounds told Sky Sports: “While a worst-case scenario was avoided in dramatic circumstances in the final week of the campaign, ensuring such a tumultuous period does not become a more regular occurrence during the final few years at Goodison Park will require a summer of astute recruitment both on and off the pitch.
“Frank Lampard and his coaching staff have worked superbly to unify a fractured club but continued structural improvements must be implemented first before further mistakes in the transfer market are made. A new head of recruitment and academy director are being sought.
“To this end, Everton are aiming for a more collegiate approach to decision-making, with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri factoring in the views of the Board of Directors and Kevin Thelwell, the director of football.
He added: “Depending on the severity of the club’s finances, they may need to sell one of Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison in order to improve the overall quality of the squad. Young and hungry players are needed, but the emergence of Anthony Gordon as a first-team regular provides inspiration for others seeking a pathway to the first team.”

Sacrifice.
Lampard won’t want to sell any of the squad’s key players never mind two of the best.
The former Derby boss has done extremely well so far at Everton but you have to feel for him because he is set for another season with his back somewhat up against the wall.
Season after season of ridiculous spending under Farhad Moshiri has not only created a mess of a squad but has made it difficult to fix as the Blues look to abide by Financial Fair Play regulations.
Currently, if you have to pick one to go it would be Calvert-Lewin. He is a superb player, one that is so important to the club and the fans but his lack of fitness last season in conjunction with Richarlison’s season-saving impact sees the Brazilian as the number one.
With that being said, the South American is most likely worth more money in the market so the club need to figure out what they want to do before they potentially lose both.
