Deafening silence from Everton is a huge worry for the Goodison Park faithful
The Liverpool Echo’s Adam Jones believes the lack of communication from the Everton hierarchy is a worrying sign heading into a massive summer for the Toffees.
After narrowly avoiding relegation in the 2021-22 season the Toffees [Liverpool Echo, 25 May] are set to complete a strategic review of their recruitment structure at the club.
However, the Toffees have been relatively silent since the season ended and Jones believes that is a worrying sign.

Writing for the Echo on Friday [3 June], Jones said: “Communication at this stage is the absolute bare minimum.
“After what has been the worst campaign for a generation at Goodison, why are fans being left completely in the dark about what has just taken place and what the plan is for the future?”
He added: “A continued silence, leaving fans to fester on what has been a shambolic campaign, does nobody any favours.
“You can’t hide behind what was a positive attitude to end the campaign, because who is to say that the club won’t find themselves in more dire straits in the future?”
Communication is key
Despite a memorable end to their season, the Toffees cannot hide behind the positivity of staying up because ultimately, they should never have been in that position in the first place.
After securing their survival Everton should’ve been open and honest with their fans about what went wrong in the 2021-22 campaign.
The Goodison Park faithful will be desperate for reassurance that they won’t be battling relegation again next season.
At present, there is no indication that there has been a change in Everton’s recruitment policies with little or no communication coming from the club.

Maybe Frank Lampard and Everton are trying to keep their cards close to their chest at present, but it would be far better to inform the fans of some of their ideas for the future.
With the news [Daily Mail, 3 June] of the Toffees being confident of securing the signing of James Tarkowski, nothing has appeared to have changed in their transfer outlook.
A 29-Year-old centre half on a big contract is very similar to what the Toffees have gone for in the past.
In other Everton news, a new three-year deal has been offered to his Finch Farm-educated defender who was out of contract this summer.
