Everton have looked at summer transfer deal for Chelsea wonder Billy Gilmour

Everton are now looking into a deal to sign Chelsea wonder Billy Gilmour this summer, according to Paul Brown.

The Daily Star journalist also shared that Conor Gallagher was a target for Frank Lampard, but that one is much more unlikely with him set for a chance under Thomas Tuchel.

Gilmour would be much more likely to leave Stamford Bridge on loan having not tasted as much success at Norwich City in the Premier League in the 2021-22 season.

Speaking to GIVE ME SPORT on Thursday evening [02 June], Brown shared the latest with more than one name being looked at right now.

“I know Everton have looked at both players [Gilmour and Gallagher],” he said.

“I think they’ve got very little chance of getting Conor Gallagher because Gallagher knows he’ll get a chance at Chelsea.”

Gallagher is a no.

Realists will know that we stand no chance of bringing the England international to Goodison Park next season after he blew the Premier League away at Crystal Palace last season.

Gilmour would be a very intriguing option in midfield, though.

Lampard may not be able to use his Chelsea connections to get Gallagher, but should the Scottish international be available, he should get to work instantly.

The former Rangers talent is perfect for this midfield three, a busy little player who can get on the ball and dictate play with ease – just as he did for Scotland against England at the latest EUROs.

Allan hasn’t done that enough when at the base of midfield, with his performance at Liverpool the perfect example of exactly what we don’t need.

We expect Lampard to use his pull should this deal become a possibility – this is one to watch in the next couple of months.
