Everton must make early move to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic

Everton are interested in making a move for Crystal Palace’s veteran midfielder Luka Milivojevic this summer, according to Greek journalist Gerasimos Manolidis.

The Serbia international has been void of game time since the arrival of Patrick Vierra, making only 15 Premier League appearances for the club during the 2021-22 campaign.

Under the management of Roy Hodgson, the experienced midfielder made 31 Premier League appearances in the season before.

It could be that due to the lack of matches, the 31-year-old has been willing to move away from Selhurst Park to get regular game time.

If you ask Crystal Palace fans about Milivojevic, they will tell you he is all about aggression and tenacity.

The Serbia international is one of those midfielders who improves everyone in the team and Everton, in its current state, would love to have an inspirational player in midfield.

With 180 appearances across five seasons, it shows that Milivojevic is barely injured during the season.

Considering how depleted Everton’s midfield was last season, the veteran would be there in the middle of the park, starting every game.

Despite having limited matches in the recently concluded season, Milivojevic had a passing accuracy of 86%, the highest in Crystal Palace’s midfield whereas under Hodgson, he averaged more than two tackles per match.

As Lampard is building a counter-attacking module, he would love to have Milivojevic — despite him being already into his 30s — as he passed into channels for the likes of Richarlison and Calvert Lewin.
