Everton signing James Garner will be match made in heaven

Everton want to make a move for Manchester United midfielder James Garner in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Toffees barely escaped relegation last season and now, manager Frank Lampard is looking to build a stronger squad ahead of the next campaign.

Therefore, as per the latest report, Everton are one of the few clubs that are keen on making a move for Garner in the summer.

The midfielder was impressive during the last season while being on loan at Nottingham Forest, earning promotion from the Championship.

With his chances to be part of Erik ten Hag’s plans looking slim, it is believed that he is likely to leave the club on another loan spell.

Garner’s Potential Role at Everton

After making his loan move to Nottingham Forest, Garner became one of the most consistent performers in the recently concluded Championship campaign.

His steady performances were one of the primary reasons why the two-time European champions have secured the promotion back into the Premier League.

The Manchester United youngster made 41 appearances for the Reds, scoring four goals and providing eight assists. He was also effective in the FA Cup where Nottingham Forest reached the quarter-finals.

The 21-year-old is highly known for his immense passing range. He had a passing accuracy of 81% in the last season.

Garner made two key passes and 0.4 dribbles per game. However, he has also improved his defensive capabilities, making 1.9 tackles and 1.4 interceptions per game.

Considering he has become an all-round package in the midfield, Garner can play anywhere in the middle of the park and if he goes to Everton at such a young age, it might prove to be a match made in heaven.
