Everton to sign James Tarkowski after he returns from holiday
Everton look set to sign James Tarkowski on a free transfer once the centre-back returns from his holiday, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported in their print edition on 3 June (page 78) that the Blues are “confident” of wrapping up a deal to sign the 29-year-old with him set to leave Burnley when his contract at Turf Moor expires at the end of this month.
It is understood that Everton are going to beat Aston Villa and Fulham to the signing of the two-time England international.

Matter of time
Tarkowski should be a good signing for Everton.
Yes, Burnley were relegated from the Premier League with the ex-Brentford ace playing in all but three of their league matches in the 2021/22 season.
However, we’ve all seen over the years the quality that Tarkowski has and he should be a real asset for Everton.
While it’s going to be a free transfer, the numbers we’ve seen floating around suggest that this deal won’t be cheap with Tarkowski seemingly wanting a big wage to join the Toffees.
That’s fine and understandable as free agents usually can bump up their demands for wages.

However, he needs to prove that he’s not about the money.
Tarkowski’s form at Burnley dropped off a cliff as it became apparent that he wasn’t going to agree a new contract at Turf Moor and that does worry us a bit.
Of course, it might be completely different once he arrives at Goodison Park to play for a club far bigger than Burnley.
But still, he does have quite a lot to prove but he cannot be worse than Michael Keane, surely?
Frank Lampard needs to get the ball rolling with transfers but Everton’s financial issues are bound to hold back certain deals going ahead until sales are made.
It’s only going to be a matter of time before we see Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin get strongly linked with moves away from Merseyside.
In other Everton news, the Blues could be forced into a big sale as Alisher Usmanov’s name is mentioned in a transfer report.
