Keeping Salomon Rondon will not be bad thing for Everton

Everton striker Salomon Rondon has cleared transfer speculation and said that he wants to be an important part of the club.

The former Newcastle United completed his move to Goodison Park last summer but failed to establish himself as a regular starter under Rafa Benitez or Frank Lampard.

With speculation surrounding many Everton exits this summer, the Venezuelan international has set his priorities for the upcoming season, which could protect the Toffees.

Time to keep

Despite him clearing up his transfer speculation, it remains to be seen what his role at the club actually is.

There are strong speculations related to the departure of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert Lewin this summer. If both of those players leave, the 32-year-old is likely to get a lot of game time.

Rondon’s role in the squad also depends upon the transfers Everton make this summer. If they bring the likes of Steven Bergwijn and Valentin Castellanos to the club, the 32-year-old won’t be anything more than an impact player from the bench.

However, he can be relied on as an ideal impact player if the Toffees change their game plan to long balls, considering he has got a brilliant scoring ratio with headers.

He also has ample amount of experience playing in the Premier League and that could definitely come in handy.
