Southampton bid for Manchester City keeper Gavin Bazunu a blow for Everton
Southampton have reportedly stepped up their interest in Manchester City’s Gavin Bazunu and that could be a blow for any potential move to Everton.
It had been reported by The Irish Independent on 12 May, that the Toffees were keen on the Republic of Ireland number one.
However, the Daily Mail revealed on Wednesday [8 June], that Ralph Hasenhüttl has made a move for the Manchester City man in a bid that could rise to £10million.

If the rumours are to be believed then the Toffees must act fast to bring the 20-year-old to Goodison Park.
Bazunu is exactly the type of player Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell need to be targeting this summer.
Bazunu has been exceptional whilst out on-loan at League One side Portsmouth this season and is a player destined to go to the very top of the game.
He is the perfect example of a young player that the Toffees need to be targeting before their market value sky rockets.
If Lampard chooses to move on Jordan Pickford then he should be looking no further than Bazunu.
The 20-year-old is extremely unlucky that he is behind Ederson at Manchester City because if there was any doubt over the Brazilian, Bazunu would easily make the step up.

Bazunu would be a low-risk signing that Everton simply have to pursue.
If they don’t react he will most likely be putting a Southampton shirt on next season.
If Everton don’t react to the news of Southampton’s interest then it is blindingly obvious that lessons haven’t been learnt from past mistakes at Goodison Park.
In other Everton news, the Blues could be forced into a big sale as Alisher Usmanov’s name is mentioned in a transfer report.
