New Everton sponsorship could be big boost for potential transfer business

Everton could be set for a big transfer boost after latest sponsorship agreement with gambling company Stake.com.

The club announced on Thursday [9 June], that it had agreed on a club-record sponsorship agreement with Stake.com to replace their current sponsor Cazoo.

It is believed the deal will earn the Toffees in excess of £10million per season and that could be a huge boost for Frank Lampard as he looks to overhaul his Everton side.

With Lampard potentially having to move players out to generate funds, news of a potential cash windfall could make life easier for the Toffees’ boss.

Lampard has a huge task on his hands to overhaul and rejuvenate this Everton side.

With the Toffees coming scarily close to relegation and their rivals already active in the transfer market, the Everton manager will be hoping for backing from the club hierarchy this summer.

If Lampard is backed, it is crucial that he uses the money in the correct manner and doesn’t repeat the mistakes that have been continually made at Goodison Park over the years.

For too long Everton have made poor recruitment decisions which has cost them huge amounts of money and nearly their Premier League status.

All eyes will be fixed on Kevin Thelwell and Lampard to bring a more methodical approach to Goodison Park, that combines sustainability with short-term and long-term success.

How this new cash injection will impact Lampard’s transfer kitty remains to be seen but ultimately the former Chelsea boss will need to be looking for value in the market and not just splashing the cash for the sake of it.
