Simon Jordan believes Farhad Moshiri doesn’t need to apologise to Everton fans
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri’s open apology letter to the fans was not needed, according to talkSPORT host Simon Jordan.
Moshiri wrote to the Goodison faithful on Wednesday [8 June] apologising for the Toffees’ 2021-22 Premier League campaign, which saw the Toffees flirt with the relegation zone.
Many Evertonians will welcome the apology from Moshiri and feel that it was justified, however, Jordan believes the Everton owner shouldn’t need to apologise.
Talking on talkSPORT’s White&Jordan [10:10, 8 June], Jordan said: “Why has he got to apologise?
“Maybe some of the players and managers who he has put in place that haven’t done their jobs should apologise.”
Jordan was clear on what the Everton owner needs to do going forward: “He needs to explain the vision.
“He shouldn’t be apologising for losing £500million of his money, instead what he should be doing is saying these are the areas we’ve got wrong and we aren’t going to keep making the same mistakes.”
Spot on
Jordan is absolutely spot on in his assessment of Moshiri and his Everton apology.
Why should the Everton owner apologise for losing his money due to poor choices of manager and recruitment?
He is clearly dedicated to the club due to the immense financial backing he has provided over the years and the players and managers that have been recruited at Goodison Park need to take some of the blame.

Moshiri is clearly not a football man and has been directed to fund some horrendous decisions over the past few years.
What he absolutely must do over this summer is keep Evertonians up to date with what is being done at the club to prevent their relegation-threatened campaign from occurring again.
Hopefully, with Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell in their new roles, the Toffees can really start to be progressive in their future decisions.
Looking to bring in younger, up and coming talent that can be developed whilst at Goodison Park has to be the model for the club hierarchy at present.
