Arsenal transfer blow could mean they focus purely on Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Arsenal have been dealt transfer blow and that could mean their attention could focus purely on Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

As revealed by The Mirror [10 June] the Gunners are now sweating on a deal for forward Gabriel Jesus after Chelsea and Real Madrid joined the race for the Manchester City man.

However, the Gunners have been long-time admirers of his Calvert-Lewin as reported by The Mirror on 31 May.

With there now being uncertainty over their move for Jesus it wouldn’t be a shock to see Mikel Arteta push for Calvert-Lewin in the coming weeks.

Arteta is desperate for a striker to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, and the Everton man does seem to be a good fit at the Emirates.

He has all the raw attributes to be a top player, but for whatever reason, his career has very much stalled at Goodison Park.

With Frank Lampard looking to generate funds to revamp his squad, a move away for Calvert-Lewin could well suit both parties.

The England striker needs a fresh start to kickstart his career and rediscover his goalscoring form whilst the club could very much do with a large transfer fee to support Lampard more effectively in his large squad overhaul.

Lampard will desperately want to get the forward’s future sorted out as soon as possible so he can effectively implement the type of players he wants at Goodison Park.
