Sky Sports pundit endorses Richarlison move from Everton to Real Madrid amid interest
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Everton would be “smart” to make their former manager Carlo Ancelotti happy and sell Richarlison to Real Madrid says Kevin Campbell.
US-based Spanish newspaper LaOpinion reported on 3 June that the former Toffees boss was “determined” to reunite with the Brazilian star, who is currently looking for a move.
The 25-year-old was a crucial part of the team eventually securing Premier League survival late in the 2021/22 season, but if he has to go Sky Sports pundit Campbell believes it makes sense for the club to send him to the Santiago Bernabeu if possible to keep him out of top flight rivals’ hands.

On whether the Brazilian is good enough for the European champions he told Goodison News: “I think he is. I think he is. He’ll bring a versatility because he can play multiple positions.
“Carlo Ancelotti knows the player as well, and I think Richarlison’s done enough at Everton now that he’s going to want to maybe go to pastures new, and obviously give Frank Lampard the funds to go into the transfer market.
“So I think it might work all round.”
On the added consideration of keeping the player from becoming a direct rival by selling him outside the Premier League Campbell added: “Yes, I think that will be a smart move.”

Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column that the Pigeon would prefer to stay in the Premier League.
He has earned himself a move as he is better than a relegation battle, yet stayed committed to the cause and ultimately was key to coming out on top in that battle.
But if he has to go, it would be a lot less painful for fans if they didn’t have to watch him scoring goals for an English rival, even if the money he will bring it is sure to be crucial.
In other Everton news, it would apparently take a massive offer for the club to hijack a deal for one midfield target who is set to move on loan.
