Simon Jordan delivers verdict on potential Farhad Moshiri-Everton sale
Simon Jordan does not see Farhad Moshiri relinquishing his entire stake in Everton despite there being potential bidders waiting in the wings.
According to the Mirror, Moshiri has received four offers for the sale of the club with Peter Kenyon’s consortium having made the most progress.
It is understood that the price of the club could be in the region of £1billion.
Discuss this live on talkSPORT, Jim White asked Jordan: “What’s your hunch on this?”
Jordan: “Nothing, Moshiri will still be the owner of Everton. Possibly [Kenyon might buy into the club], if Moshiri wants to take the pain out of it because there’s no doubt there’s pain in there.
“Nobody will see a wall and say let me pee up £700million against it and he’s done that and he’s got vilified doing it.
“He’s not winning, is he? This is not a win for him.”
Time to let go?
Moshiri has undoubtedly invested a lot of money into the club but he’s not followed the basic principles of running it.
He has not hired the right people, made decisions that ideally should have been delegated and also was heavily influenced by agents.
During the entire Rafa Benitez saga, he choose to go against the will of the Evertonians and it ended up horribly for him.
With the Russian sanctions, Alisher Usmanov is also no longer affiliated with the club and that has cost them financially in a big way.
Maybe Moshiri could sell the club to the highest bidder if he feels like it as there’s nothing he could do to win over the support of the fans.
Morale is at an all-time low in and around Goodison Park and something drastic needs to change for things to be back on track.
