Everton have made offer to sign Christian Eriksen on free transfer

Everton have made an offer to sign Christian Eriksen who will be available on a free transfer this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

The Atheltic on 14 June reported that Manchester United have made an offer to sign the 30-year-old who is available to sign on a free transfer as his Brentford contract expires on June 30.

The report, however, didn’t mention that Eriksen has received offers from other clubs as well, like Everton, Tottenham and Brentford. It seems, he is not short of options at the moment.

Get it done

Since there’s already an offer on the table, Everton must get the deal done for the Danish midfielder.

Do Everton really have a chance here? Yes. While Eriksen would love to play in the Champions League or the Europa League, the Toffees can still get him if they pitch him correctly.

The Toffees can lure him with the offer of regular first-team football, plus Lampard can tell him that he will be the central creative heart-beat of his side.

Eriksen signed a short-term deal with Brentford in January, and it took him no time to settle down. He was class during his short spell at the club and that’s why the Toffees must sign him.

Fabian Delph is most likely to leave the club, while doubts remain over long-term futures of Allan and Andre Gomes.

There is no creative playmaker in the squad at the moment, and Eriksen will definitely improve Frank Lampard’s side.

In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has said the Blues should complete their first signing by the end of this week.
