Digging heels to keep Calvert-Lewin good omen for Everton after difficult season
Newcastle United have been priced out of a move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to The Telegraph.
The Magpies have been linked with a move for a striker in the summer transfer window in order to bolster their attacking options.
However, with the Toffees sticking to their asking price of £60million for their star player, the Magpies have turned their attention elsewhere.

Calvert-Lewin, who joined Everton in a deal worth £1.6 million from Sheffield Utd in the summer of 2016, has a contract with the Liverpool-based club till the summer of 2025.
Holding ground
It wasn’t long ago when there was an argument about England playing a two-striker system featuring Harry Kane and Calvert-Lewin.
Since joining the club in 2017, the 25-year-old elevated his performance and became one of the first names on the Everton team sheet.
It was only the 2020-21 season when the former Sheffield United man scored 21 goals across all competitions, his highest tally in a domestic season [Whoscored].

However, things became sour for Calvert-Lewin in 2021-22 when he suffered from injuries as well as some mental stress as well.
Despite his struggles, he scored the winner against Crystal Palace to save his club from relegation.
The kind of character showed by Calvert-Lewin in tough circumstances showed by he is highly rated by the Goodison Park-faithful and therefore, they will be extremely pleased with how the club and the top-tier management managed to dig their heels and keep the star player at the club.
