Jorge Mendes behind move as Everton eye deal for Matheus Nunes
Everton are heavily interested in signing Matheus Nunes this summer, with super-agent Jorge Mendes working behind any potential move, according to Record.
The Portuguese newspaper reported via their print edition on Thursday (16 June, page 8), that Nunez is using his advantage of staying in England, to broker some major deals.
Nunes is one of Sporting’s major assets, and he is valued at around £42.9 million.

Newcastle United and Wolves are keen as well. As of now, none of the clubs have met the valuation of the player.
If Nunes seals a move away from the club, he would be their second bigger transfer for the club after Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United for around £47.2m.
Superb addition
Nunes would be a blockbuster signing for the club, but it looks highly unlikely.
Even if Peter Kenyon completes the takeover, the Toffees will still have to walk on tight ropes aka Financial Fair play.
Richarlison is most likely to leave the club, and to complete a deal for a marquee signing the club could be forced to sell a few more players as well.
The Toffees, in that case, may have to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin as well to find a move for Nunes and other players this summer.
Nunes, once again, impressed for Sporting in 2021/22 where he managed four goals and five assists in 50 appearances for the club.

However, will Nunes be willing to leave Sporting to join Everton?
Sporting finished second in the league, and they won’t sell him on the cheap, especially with super-agent Mendes around.
He is a technically gifted midfielder who will be a huge upgrade over the existing bunch Frank Lampard has at his disposal. On paper, it looks really tempting, but practically, the chances of the deal happening is less.
In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has said the Blues should complete their first signing by the end of this week.
