Chelsea make enquiry to sign Everton star Richarlison this summer

Chelsea have reportedly made an enquiry into the signing of Everton forward Richarlison this summer.

According to Talk Chelsea and Chelsea News.co journalist Simon Phillips, the Blues are opening to include players in a potential transfer deal.

Thomas Tuchel wants to use him as a number nine and is looking to capitalise after Everton rejected Tottenham Hotspur’s £50million bid for the Brazilian.

Phillips relayed this news to his 265k Twitter followers, “EXCL: Chelsea make Richarlison enquiry. Blues open to offering player/s in the deal. Tuchel keen to use him as a number 9. Everton rejected Spurs £50m bid last week.”

Lukaku replacement

Chelsea’s move for Romelu Lukaku did not pan out in the way many thought that it would last summer.

He ended up being one of Premier League’s worst ever signings and is now set to part ways with the club.

Tuchel desperately needs a number nine to lead the line next season and has identified Richarlison as his preferred choice.

The Brazillian has admitted that he could leave the Toffees in the summer and a move to Chelsea would be too hard for him to turn down.

He will have aspirations to play in the Champions League and an opportunity like this is unlikely to present itself in the future.

Everton must ensure that they’re compensated well for this and strengthen other positions as their financial woes have been well documented.

Frank Lampard could look to reinvest the money generated from Richarlison’s sale to strengthen his defence and midfield.
