Jack Wilshere: Everton striker Richarlison has had problems but deserves chance at top club
Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere believes Everton striker Richarlison deserves his chance at a top club despite facing problems in the past.
It had been reported by The Daily Mail on 20 June, that Chelsea have joined the race for the Brazilian with London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham also vying for his signature.
Wilshere believes that despite his flaws the Brazilian would be an interesting signing for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Talking on talkSPORT EDGE on Monday 20 June, Wilshere said: “Richarlison is a strange one because I think he is a top player and there is something there.
“He’s obviously had his problems on the pitch being a little bit petulant and immature but I actually quite like that.
“I think he deserves his chance at a top club and would like to see him at Arsenal under Arteta and see how it works.

“So I’d give it an 8/10.”
Time to move on
There has certainly been plenty of interest in the Brazilian this summer and it would not be a shock to see him move on from Goodison Park in the coming months.
Frank Lampard needs to weigh up how important the striker is to his plans next season and whether he could potentially use the transfer fee to improve the rest of his squad.
There is no doubting the 25-year-old’s talent, with the striker playing a large part in Everton’s Premier League survival, having flirted closely with relegation in the 2021/22 season.
With finances potentially being quite tight at Goodison Park this summer, Lampard is going to need to be smart in terms of who he lets go and who he recruits.
Receiving a fee of over £50million for Richarlison would certainly go a long way in helping the Everton boss restructure and overhaul his squad.
Richarlison’s future must be resolved quickly to give Lampard as much chance as possible of using any potential transfer fee wisely in the summer window.
