Louis Saha urges Richarlison to stay at Everton despite Chelsea links

Former Everton striker Louis Saha has urged Richarlison to stay at the club amid links from a number of clubs in Europe.

The Brazil international has been linked with a move away with Chelsea leading the chase, according to The Independent.

However, Saha, who represented the Liverpool-based in 115 matches and scored 34 goals, while talking to BoyleSports, as quoted by Liverpool Echo, is optimistic that Everton can achieve good results in the upcoming campaign if the former Watford striker stays.

“I think Lampard has managed the situation of injuries and fixture congestion really well and I believe if they play with confidence and emotion, Everton can do amazing things next year,” Saha stated.

“Richarlison would adapt at any club he’s at because he’s a quality player, can play in a few different positions and he’s a very exciting player so fans always love him straight away, but I would like him to stay at Everton.”

Dominic Calvert Lewin and Richarlison had recently had some problems in terms of performances and transfer speculation.

However, it cannot be ignored the kind of performances the Brazil international has put in for Everton in the last season.

In the recently concluded Premier League season, the winger scored 10 goals and provided five assists across 29 appearances. He contributed to 35% of the overall goals scored by the Toffees in the Premier League [Transfermarkt].

Even though he tends to play on the left wing, he can be equally as effective on the right side of the wing based on his insane dribbling skills and pace. At times, he has been also deployed as a false nine when Everton tends to play on the counter-attack.

Considering the fact that he was one of the big reasons why Everton are still in the Premier League, it will be a huge blow to Lampard’s plans to see the 25-year-old leave the club.

In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has said the Blues should complete their first signing by the end of this week.
