Everton keeping ‘close tabs’ on Georginio Wijnaldum after PSG sanction summer exit
Everton are keeping “close tabs” on Georginio Wijnaldum after PSG sanctioned a summer exit for the Netherlands international as reported by 90min.
The midfielder featured 31 times in Ligue 1 in the 2021/22 campaign scoring once and amassing three assists.
90min reported on Friday 24 June, that Leicester are showing a strong interest in the 31-year-old, whilst Everton, West Ham and Wolves keeping close tabs on Wijnaldum.

Avoid at all costs
Everton must avoid a move for Wijnaldum at all costs with the midfielder a prime example of the type of player that the Toffees have been guilty of recruiting in the past.
The midfielder would be on huge wages and is at an age where his career is only declining.
Wijnaldum being allowed to leave PSG should be a huge indication that the 31-year-old is not the player he once was when he was on the red side on Merseyside.
Everton need to be targetting younger players with sell-on potenetial.

If Wijnaldum made the move to Goodison Park he would be another example of an older declining player who would merely sit on a big contract and drain money out of the club.
Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell need to make sure they make younger players on an upward trajectory their priority this summer.
Everton need to raise funds rather than wasting them on players such as Wijnaldum again and again.
The same mistakes cannot be made.
Let’s hope this one is merely a rumour and that Lampard avoids a move for the former Liverpool man.
