Tottenham have made contact with Everton for Richarlison - agent

Tottenham have made official contact with Everton for forward Richarlison about a transfer this summer, according to FA registered agent Paul O Keefe.

The Toffees have been expecting interest in the Brazilian all summer and there were reports from Brazil that the two clubs were in advanced negotiations for a £51.2m deal [UOL, June 11].

However it’s now being reported that official contact has been made between the two parties about a deal, with Spurs making him their number one target for the summer.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, O Keefe wrote [June 25]; “Tottenham have now made contact with Everton over Richarlison and want to commence negotiations.”

Everton are likely to need to make a major sale this summer to help their financial struggles, with the 25-year-old winger the biggest asset they have.

Inevitable

It’s been coming all summer but it now seems as though the Richarlison exit could be coming sooner than later.

Multiple clubs across Europe have been linked with a move for him, but it seems that Spurs’ interest is the strongest and it seems inevitable a move will happen.

It won’t be cheap though, despite Everton’s financial troubles, because the club will refuse to be taken for a ride and would surely prefer to sell abroad if the option is there.

However with the need for cash there and the player seemingly wanting to move away from Goodison Park, it seems that a compromise will need to be found in order to secure everyone’s best interests.

But with a move officially being made now, it seems the Toffees can turn their attentions to replacing the Brazilian quickly rather than dwelling on their exit to ensure they have the best possible campaign next season.
