Everton plans on Richarlison and Harry Winks could prove stumbling blocks for Tottenham

Everton want to conduct separate deals for Richarlison and Harry Winks, and it could prove to be a “stumbling block” for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Paul Brown.

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge wrote on Twitter on 25 June that Spurs and Everton still in talks over the transfer of Winks, who has dropped down the pecking order at the club.

The Toffees want a loan deal with an option to buy. At the same time, Spurs are also keen to do a deal for Richarlison.

However, Brown suggests that the Toffees aren’t interested in any kind of swap deal or part-exchange deal for their prized asset.

Brown told Give Me Sport: “From Spurs’ point of view and it would make it a lot cheaper if they could try and package that all together, but as far as I understand, Everton want it kept totally separate and that might be a stumbling block at the moment.”

Nice idea

The Toffees need to bolster their midfield this summer, and Winks would be a decent addition to the squad.

Fabian Delph will leave the club at the end of the month, while the likes of Allan and Andre Gomes are facing uncertain futures too.

Tom Davies missed a huge chunk of games last season, and he needs to prove a point with his future too on the line. Adding a new midfield is a priority, and Winks won’t be a bad option.

However, to include him in a deal for Richarlison doesn’t make sense.

Richarlison is a bankable asset for the club, and the money from his sale is vital for the club’s transfer plans this summer.

Frank Lampard is expected to reinvest the money into the squad. Thus, the Toffees cannot afford to enter into any sort of part agreement for Richarlison. No way.

It remains to be seen how it unfolds in the coming weeks, but the Toffees are unlikely to agree to any sort of part exchange or swap deals for the Brazilian.
