2022/23 loan possibility shared as Tottenham Hotspur enquire to sign Everton attacker Anthony Gordon

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an enquiry into the availability of Everton attacker Anthony Gordon for this summer window.

According to 90Min, Spurs are admirers of the 21-year-old but do prefer if he could be included as part of a swap deal, with the Toffees being keen on Harry Winks.

If the two clubs can strike a deal over the talented English attacker, then there is a possibility of him returning to Goodison Park on loan for the 2022/23 season.

Not a good deal

Gordon is one of the few players in the current squad that has a real connection with the fans and they would hate to see their rising star leave after one good season.

He is Everton through and through and for him to abandon it to go on to warm the bench of a side in the Champions League makes very little sense.

He undoubtedly will be having aspirations to represent the Three Lions and he cannot be doing that if he’s not playing regularly.

Spurs have Son, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski and they’re also looking to sign Richarlison – putting Gordon fifth in the pecking order if he chooses to move.

Even from a pragmatic point of view, it would best serve him to stay at Goodison Park for the foreseeable future and not even consider a temporary loan return for a season.

It remains to be seen how these negotiations pan out and whether or not Spurs end up with any Evertonians at the end of the window.
