Everton takeover: Maciek Kaminski goes through Premier League owners’ and directors’ test
There have been issues raised with Maciek Kamsinki as Peter Kenyon’s consortium aims to complete a takeover of Everton Football Club, according to The Times.
The newspaper reported via their website on Wednesday (29 June) that a 2017 report on Kaminski’s property company, Talon Real Estate Holdings, shows that “it defaulted on several loans and that auditors raised ‘substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern’.”
It is understood that a spokesman for Kaminski declined to comment but The Times has a source close to his family, which says “they have many different companies and investment vehicles they use to manage their money and assets, and that the financial commitment to Everton would not ‘touch the sides’ of their wealth”.

The Times claims to have seen documents relating to Talon Real Estate.
The source close to Kaminski’s family also suggests that “no red flags” have been raised with the Polish-born American businessman undergoing to Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test.
All good?
That’s the thing with super-wealthy people, some of them possess a lot of different assets and some of them can endure different kinds of success – and failure – than others.
Should we be worried about this development?
It’s hard to say because while The Times’ report says that the Talon Real Estate document has caused some worry among Evertonians online, their source close to Kaminski’s family suggests there are no issues.

At the end of the day, there’s a lot goes on behind the scenes and Kaminski seems to be a very secretive businessman and it’s very hard to dig up information about him.
That’s totally fair but it would be nice to hear some transparency from his side of the takeover, with Peter Kenyon also reportedly working with John Thorton, who’s a US gold-mining tycoon.
Right now, we’re going to pass this over and feel as though we can still be confident a takeover can happen.
There are always twists and turns like this but Kenyon and his partners seem to be confident about buying Everton from Farhad Moshiri.
