David Ornstein: Richarlison to undergo Tottenham medical as Everton exit nears

Richarlison is scheduled to undergo his Tottenham medical on Thursday as his Everton departure grows closer according to David Ornstein.

The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday 29 June that Tottenham expects to finalise a deal for the striker over the next 24 hours.

It now appears that the Brazilian is extremely close to the Goodison Park exit with Ornstein reporting via his Personal Twitter account that the 25-year-old is set to undergo his medical today [30 June] ahead of a £60million move to Antonio Conte’s side.

Time for business to start

It is now time for the Toffees to really ramp up their transfer business with the club set to receive a reported £50million initially from Spurs, which could then rise to £60million with add-ons.

This money simply has to be reinvested into the Toffees squad quickly and wisely by the club hierarchy.

Everton have been slow in the transfer market thus far with the likes of Leeds United leaving the Toffees well behind in terms of recent activity.

However, there has been no secret made of the financial restraints that are present at Goodison Park and the news of Richarlison’s imminent departure will give Evertonians hope that their transfer business can begin to get going.

Richarlison was instrumental in the Toffees survival battle and deserves immense credit for the performances he put in towards the back end of last season.

However, at 25 and with the World Cup around the corner it’s crucial that the Brazilian is playing at the highest level possible and testing himself in the Champions League.

Evertonians cannot begrudge the Brazilian a move to Tottenham.

Let’s all hope and pray that this incoming transfer fee is spent wisely by Lampard in his attempts to revamp his Everton squad.
