Everton under no pressure to sell Richarlison to Tottenham before end of Thursday
Despite interest from Tottenham, Everton may not be forced to sell star Brazilian Richarlison by the end of play on Thursday, 30 June, according to BBC Sport journalist Alistair Magowan
Sky Sports reported via their Transfer Centre on Wednesday night (29 June, 09:17pm) that Everton are “under pressure” to sell Richarlison, 25, before midnight on 30 June “to bring themselves in line with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules”.
However, writing via his personal Twitter account, Magowan claimed that is not the case – although it would boost Frank Lampard’s transfer budget if a deal did go through for Richarlison to join Spurs.
Magowan said: “Tottenham are interested in Richarlison but Everton under no pressure to sell before the accounting deadline tomorrow in order to help balance books for this season.
“A Richarlison sale would offer substantial funds for Frank Lampard though.”
Difficult time for the club.
The Richarlison saga epitomizes the difficult period the club currently find themselves in.
Years of mistakes in the transfer market now leave them handicapped financially and unable to give the squad the desperate re-investment it craves.
There are multiple holes in the current Everton team, and to fill these holes, it has been believed that they would need to sell a Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin-sized asset to have the funds to do so.

However, this new report from the BBC does provide a shimmering ray of hope for the club as replacing these two players, especially the Brazilian, would not be an easy task.
Richarlison joined Everton from Watford in a £50 million deal four years ago and has gone on to become a pivotal player for the club during his time at Goodison Park, averaging almost 11 goals a season since making the move from London.
The enigmatic Brazilian international has scored 43 goals in his 135 Everton games, and last season he was Everton’s top scorer with 10 goals, the only player in the Everton team to reach double digits last season.
He scored several crucial goals that helped keep the Toffees in the division, especially the winner against Chelsea at Goodison Park on (1 May), and he would be a huge player and character to replace in the Everton dressing room.
