Everton signing Jesse Lingard will be perfect addition to attacking unit after Richarlison exit

Everton are interested in signing former Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard in the summer, according to Daily Mail.

The Toffees are in the market to sign an attacking player, especially after the departure of Richarlison who recently joined Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £60 million.

On the other hand, Lingard has recently become a free agent after his contract with the Red Devils came to an end on June 30.

However, the Toffees will have a hard time in signing the England international as he has also been attracting interest from the likes of West Ham.

Right Move at the Right Time

In his career, Lingard has been the kind of player that has divided opinion between not just the Manchester United fans but also the England fans.

He has enjoyed some really good moments but also there were times when he has been frustrating.

However, the truth is that he was an active part of Gareth Southgate’s England team that reached the semi-finals of the World Cup and the final of the Euros. In particular, he was one of the standout players during the 2018 World Cup run.

During his time at Old Trafford, he was pivotal to all three trophies United has won since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson. He scored the winner in the 2016 FA Cup and the 2017 League Cup finals respectively.

However, in the last 12 months, he has barely featured for the Red Devils which led him to leave the club on a free deal.

With Everton eager to have some much-needed experience in the attacking front, Lingard might prove to be a perfect addition and someone who Frank Lampard can rely on.

This could be a Kevin Thelwell and Lampard masterclass if pulled off.
