James Tarkowski shares six-word Twitter post after joining Everton
Everton have completed their first signing of the summer after the club announced the arrival of James Tarkowski on Saturday (2 July) via their official website.
A deal was already agreed last month, the defender now joins the club as a free agent after his contract with Burnley had expired.
The 29-year-old defender has signed a four-year contract with the Toffees, that will keep him at the club until the end of June 2026.
He has shared his reaction on Twitter. Tarkowski wrote: “The Next Chapter. Up The Toffees!”
More signings needed
Tarkowski is a fantastic addition for the club.
He played 194 Premier League games for Burnley, and was one of their key players in the last few seasons.
He is a rock-solid defender with an excellent, progressive passing range, and Frank Lampard will hope that he can replicate the same form that he showed for the Clarets.
His addition now gives Lampard the opportunity to ship out at least one centre-back this summer, with Yerry Mina most likely to be sold.

The summer transfer window is going to be massive for the club, but with the Toffees crippled by financial restrictions, it remains to be seen how they conduct their business.
Richarlison has moved to Tottenham Hotspur, and the club need to use the transfer fee to good effect.
Signing a striker is a priority for the club, while Lampard needs to bolster the midfield and attacking areas as well.
