Tottenham could potentially hit Everton with a double transfer blow
Tottenham confirmed the signing of Everton forward Richarlison on Friday and could now be set to rival the Toffees for Jesse Lingard’s signature.
The Liverpool Echo reported [1 July] that Frank Lampard’s side have held talks with the 29-year-old, with The Mirror [1 July] also suggesting that Lingard is keen to remain in the North West.
However, it appears that Tottenham could yet again impact Everton’s transfer plans, with The Telegraph reporting [1 July], that Spurs have Lingard “under consideration” as they look to up their quota of homegrown players.

West Ham have also been long-time admirers of the 29-year-old free agent with talkSPORT suggesting that Lingard’s preference is to return to the London Stadium, although wages could be an issue.
Some things never change
Everton’s ability to consistently fork out large amounts of money on ageing talent never fails to amaze.
We have heard rumblings of a change in transfer culture at Goodison Park this summer, with Lampard and Kevin Thelwell looking for up-and-coming players to develop and then sell on.
So far the Toffees are going to sign a 29-year-old James Tarkowski and have been linked with Lingard, whose wage demands are obscenely high.

At what point will the club hierarchy at Goodison Park actually learn and start splashing their cash wisely.
Everton cannot go on targeting the same calibre of player every single transfer window.
It is slowly driving the club into the ground and was almost the reason why the Toffees could well be residing in the Championship right now.
If a move for Lingard has been strongly considered then there really needs to be a rethink.
Someone involved in recruiting players at Goodison Park can surely see that a move for the 29-year-old is financially foolish.
