Everton signing Tyler Adams will be shrewd business

Everton are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams in the ongoing transfer window, according to Bild.

The Toffees have been in the market to sign a player to strengthen the midfield ahead of the next season and were previously linked with Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Winks.

On the other hand, the USMNT midfielder has been linked with a move away from the club to get more first-team minutes.

The report stated that the deal regarding Adams’ future can be concluded quickly and that RB Leipzig are expected to accept a proposal in the region of £13million for a permanent move of their player.

Leeds are also said to be in the race for his signature.

Key Midfielder

Adams is an athletic midfielder, known for covering every blade of grass and allowing his teammates to keep having a forward approach.

In the recently concluded Bundesliga season with Leipzig, the USMNT international averaged 1 tackle, 1.5 interceptions, and 0.3 clearances per game [Whoscored].

Furthermore, he also averaged 0.3 key passes per game and had a pass completion rate of 89%. Those numbers are more than decent considering that Adams failed to cement his spot in the starting XI on a consistent basis.

Everton had a difficult campaign last time around where they barely escaped relegation on matchday 37 and therefore, manager Frank Lampard is keen to overhaul the squad.

Adams fit the bill perfectly in that parameter as not only he is young but he will be giving his all in the World Cup year in order to cement his place in the starting XI of the national team.

Lampard could get another one over on Leeds with this deal, and he must make sure it happens.
