Everton starlet Ellis Simms wanted by Rangers and Hearts
Ellis Simms could leave Everton again this summer with Rangers and Hearts hoping to take him back to Scotland, according to The 4th Official.
The 21-year-old was sent out to the Jam Tarts for the second half of last season and he took the step up in competition in his stride, scoring seven times in all competitions for the club.
His biggest goal came at Hampden Park as he scorched in a late winner in the Edinburgh derby against Hibernian to put Hearts into the Scottish Cup final – which they subsequently lost to Rangers.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst was clearly impressed by what he saw from the Everton loanee last season as he looks to add strength in depth to his attacking department.
The England youth international has already made his debut for the Toffees, playing 61 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea last season and is likely to be involved heavily in the club’s pre-season plans.
Stay
The second half of last season was the right time to loan the 21-year-old out and see what he can do in an unfamiliar environment and his answer was devastatingly impressive.
He looked like he’d been playing for a decade rather than a couple of years and that kind of maturity and adaptability is exactly what we need at Goodison Park right now.

We’ve already lost Richarlison in the attacking third of the pitch and who is to say who else may leave yet so the last thing we need to be doing is getting rid of such a talent.
This is the year that Simms can go from an academy striker to a first-team talent and he cannot make that transition happen if he doesn’t get given the chance by Lampard.
He could be the answer to our problems but if he isn’t here, he won’t be helping us in any way.
