Ex-Everton star Richarlison Spurs debut delayed due to FA ban – report
New Tottenham Hotspur signing Richarlison will have his debut delayed because of the infamous firework throwing incident last season while playing for Everton, according to the Daily Mail.
The Brazil international completed his move to the North London club last week on a transfer fee of £60 million from the Toffees.
During the last season’s important clash against Chelsea at Goodison Park, Richarlison scored a winner for Everton and launched a blue flare and threw it back to the stands.

The decision was probed by the FA and according to the Daily Mail, the governing body has now handed the striker a one-match ban which will mean that he will be unavailable for Spurs’ opening league fixture of the next campaign.

If Everton still have a Premier League status, they have to thank Richarlison unconditionally because it was his performances that were key in the second half of the season that ensured their top-flight safety.
In the 2021/22 season, the Brazil international scored 10 goals and provided five assists across 30 Premier League games for the Toffees. He was easily the best-attacking player for Everton during that time [Transfermarkt].
At Tottenham, his role can be changed because they have already an established left-winger in Son Heung Min.

As Harry Kane is set to lead the line again for Antonio Conte’s side, it is likely that Richarlison will drift to the right or might have to start on the bench.
In either case, the Brazil international is likely to be a huge success at Spurs where at the very least, he can prove to be a more than handy backup of Kane who has struggled with injuries in the past few seasons.
