Everton reportedly cool interest in Spurs midfielder Harry Winks
Everton have reportedly cooled their interest in Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks, according to Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
The Toffees were rumoured to have shown interest in the England midfielder and were pondering placing a big for the player who has been deemed surplus to requirements in North London.
However, Taylor has no reported that the Merseyside club have cooled their interest in the midfielder and are now identifying alternative options.

Taylor said on YouTube on Tuesday (5 July): “Everton approached Tottenham about a permanent deal to sign him and there were also loose talks about the prospect of him being included in the Richarlison deal.
“But at the moment, it looks like Everton have kind of taken a backseat and they’re looking at pursuing alternative targets.”
Toffees looking at other options?
It is clear to see where the potential stumbling block for the Winks deal came from.
Taylor reported that Spurs were looking for £25m to part ways with the England international, a fee that would be understandable for Everton to hesitate with.
£25m is a lot of money for a player who only played 905 minutes of Premier League football last term – the equivalent of roughly ten games.

Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte, clearly doesn’t fancy the player, so £25m for an unwanted player is a lot of money to fork up from the Toffees.
This becomes an even tougher situation when you factor in Everton’s current financial situation, with the club still recovering from years of reckless and careless spending with several costly transfer mistakes still hampering the club’s fortunes.
If there are other, cheaper options available to Everton, you would not fault Everton for exploring them.
