Significant Anthony Gordon bid could prove hard to turn down for Everton
Everton could find a “significant” bid for winger Anthony Gordon hard to turn down with Newcastle interested according to The Times.
Sky Sports reported on Wednesday 6 July, that the Magpies have made contact over a potential move for the 21-year-old Everton youngster.
The Times has reported later reported on 6 July that Everton have no intention of selling Gordon this summer, although it has been suggested that a “significant increase” could tempt the Toffees into parting ways with the attacker.

He has to stay
To put it simply, Gordon has to remain at Goodison Park this summer if the Toffees want to show they’re ambitious about the coming seasons.
To sell one of their best assets to a Premier League rival is not a good look for the club and would be received badly by all Evertonians.
Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell should be looking trying to build a team around Gordon, not sell one of their prized assets in the hope of raising funds.

The Everton youngster is far from the peak of his career and will likely develop and increase his value over the coming seasons.
The Toffees must hold their nerve and hold onto Gordon, who could well be worth double his current market value in two or three years’ time.
The 21-year-old fits the bill for the type of player Lampard and Thelwell want at the club and they should be targeting more players who are in a similar mould to Gordon going forward.
The youngster is unlikely to depart this summer and the Toffees must keep it that way.
