Everton must avoid signing Morgan Gibbs-White at all costs

Everton finally have some money to spend in the transfer market but they have to be extremely careful not to waste it all on the wrong targets.

The £60million sale of Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur has freed up some funds for Frank Lampard to go out and properly improve his squad outside of just targeting free agents such as our only summer arrival James Tarkowski.

Thankfully, the Toffees are looking to make some big moves before the Premier League season kicks off at home to Chelsea in August.

One player Everton have been linked to is Wolverhampton Wanderers attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, as reported by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth via his personal Twitter account, but we need to stay as far away from such a move as possible.

The 22-year-old did have a reasonable season in the Championship while on loan at Sheffield United last season but it was still nothing overly special to suggest he could make the grade in the top flight.

But despite that, we are supposedly considering spending a whopping £25million on the Wolves man with no proven Premier League ability on his CV whatsoever.

If we have any real aspirations to have any success this season, we should not be looking to sign the runt of the litter of our Premier League rivals no matter the price and especially not for such a large fee.

There should be serious questions asked within Finch Farm if Gibbs-White turns up in full Everton kit for training and then walks out at Goodison Park for our opening game of the season.

We would be far better off giving an academy ace his chance in midfield such as Tyler Onyango or Isaac Price who have a genuine love for the club and can thrive off the atmosphere our superb fans always provide.
