Everton have money to spend with Morgan Gibbs-White and Armando Broja deals mooted

Everton believe they now have room to spend money on major new transfers this summer, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [07 July, pg. 44] that the Toffees are closely monitoring developments over Chelsea man Armando Broja and Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

It is also shared that although young and hungry talents are wanted, proven players will also be considered to avoid the drama of last season all over again.

Writing in their latest column for the Liverpool ECHO, Joe Thomas shared the latest on potential new arrivals at Goodison Park as the new season closes in.

“The club believes there is some room to spend money though and is currently monitoring developments in connection with a number of players including Chelsea striker Armando Broja,” he wrote.

“Morgan Gibbs-White, of Wolves, is also reportedly on the Blues’ radar. Both fit the profile of player Everton would like to pursue – young, hungry talent that could grow the club.

“However, the need to stabilise after last season is also informing decisions and proven players who genuinely strengthen the squad will be considered.”

Deals.

Everton could start to get really busy in these coming weeks with the new Premier League season less than a month away now.

With the sale of Richarlison to Spurs done, you would hope that a decent percentage of that has been made available by the board, in a way that doesn’t affect our financial fair play status.

Gibbs-White and Broja would be two fantastic options to strengthen this side, but there is surely no chance that both could arrive permanently given the prices being thrown around.

Chelsea may want more time to decide what they would like to do with their Albanian powerhouse, so a loan to Goodison Park for another year could make perfect sense.

Then it would free up these funds to bring someone like Gibbs-White into the club, or maybe a couple of proven options like they have been mooted.

One thing for sure, we need to put our foot down soon.
