Everton locked in talks for Dynamo Kiev friendly, hope for breakthrough in days

Everton are still locked in talks with Dynamo Kiev over a pre-season friendly at the end of July, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

The newspaper reported in their print edition [08 July, pg. 38], that the Toffees have offered to host the Ukrainian side at Goodison Park on Friday the 29th of July.

It is shared that Everton are hopeful that details can be finalised in the coming days to confirm the friendly which is help raise funds for humanitarian effort in Ukraine.

This would be an amazing effort by both clubs.

Farhad Moshiri has already confirmed that the offer is on the table, but the final details are still to be ironed out which likely include what sort of squad can be put together.

On top of that, there is the issue of travel for Dynamo Kiev.

Moshiri and Bill Kenwright have both already donated £250,000 to the cause after the club itself, with one of our own Vitalii Mykolenko battling through the thought time to represent the club.

Get it done.

This would be our fourth friendly of the summer if it was to take place on that date.

It would also be the week before the Premier League season gets underway, with those crucial final preparations likely to take place in this game.

Kiev are a very well-established side and have played in the Champions League, so Frank Lampard would see his side tested thoroughly before welcoming Chelsea to Merseyside.

Mykolenko would no doubt love the chance to test himself against his former side once again, but more importantly, get back together with them.

The most important part of this will be raising those funds again that can hopefully go someway towards Ukraine getting back on their feet, that is what we all want.

With a breakthrough wanted in days, the announcement may come soon after and possibly at the start of next week as we finalise our pre-season plans.

Bring it on.
