Everton had a history of producing top-quality talent with the likes of Wayne Rooney being at the top of that list.

The contract extension of McAllister will be a step in going back to the roots that bring a lot of success for the club in its rich history.

With Everton coming off the back of a difficult season where they narrowly managed to escape relegation, it was important for them to ensure that the club spend properly on the academy to groom future stars who can serve the side for years to come.
