Journalist makes Everton transfer claim as they target Chelsea striker Armando Broja
Signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja could be a financial nightmare for Everton, claims Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.
He claims that it’s not going to be a cheap deal, given the interest in signing the 20-year-old this summer.
It’s believed that signing the Albania international would take up all of their transfer budget – something they’re not likely to be prepared to do.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, he said, “Broja, I think, is an interesting one. He would certainly swallow up all of Everton’s budget if they were to sign him.
“I don’t think he would come particularly cheap, and whether they’d risk spending all of their money on one player like that, of that age, who’s had one good season in the Premier League, I have my doubts.
“So we’ll have to see, but I can’t see Everton doing huge business this summer unless there are more sales.”
Tad harsh
We tend to disagree with Brown’s assessment of the club’s financial situation here as it lacks a valid foundation.
According to the Daily Mail, he is valued at £30million and there are a number of Premier League clubs keen on signing him.
That certainly cannot be the entirety of Everton’s transfer budget, especially after they’ve received nearly twice that amount from Richarlison’s sale.
There is money to spend and it is contingent on a few factors but to suggest that one big signing depletes it entirely seems to be incorrect.
Hopefully, the club continue their pursuit of Broja and make him their second signing this summer after James Tarkowski.
The 20-year-old has not flown with his other Chelsea teammates for their pre-season tour which could open the door for Everton to discuss terms with him.
