Everton could make u-turn on decision to sell Ellis Simms as he makes United States squad

Everton will reportedly give Ellis Simms the chance to impress on their pre-season tour to the United States in the coming days.

According to the Liverpool Echo on July 11, the 21-year-old has been named in their travelling squad and will be given a chance to prove his worth to Frank Lampard.

This comes after it was understood that the Toffees were prepared to allow the young striker to leave the club this summer on a permanent basis.

Give him a chance

Simms has just played one senior game for Everton and has been sent on out on loan elsewhere to prove his worth.

This pre-season tour will be the first chance for him to prove his worth to Frank Lampard and we cannot wait to see how he fares.

He’s done well in his Hearts spell and he could be ready to be a squad player for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Funds are tight at Goodison Park so they cannot afford to splurge on a backup striker this window and must focus most of the cash on a first-team striker to replace Richarlison.

Hopefully, the 21-year-old does well in the United States and gives Lampard a few more options going into the new campaign.

Players at that age can be moulded into playing another position and if that’s what it takes to accommodate Simms into the side then so be it.
