Frank Lampard faces race against time to seal new Everton signing before jetting out to USA

Everton are now facing a race against time to secure a major new transfer, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [11 July, pg. 46] that Frank Lampard wants a new face in at Finch Farm before jetting off to the USA.

The Toffees are reported to have had a bid rejected for Wolves ace Morgan Gibbs-White in the past 24 hours, and that could be the man who is wanted at Goodison Park [Telegraph].

Writing in one of his snippets for the ECHO this week, Chris Beesley shared the latest news on incomings as the Toffees look to put their foot on the gas.

“Lampard would like to get a new signing in to work with his team at Finch Farm before the team jet out but it now looks a race against time as Jesse Lingard – one of the targets he was understood to be considering to replace Richarlison – has already crossed the Atlantic to entertain pitches from MLS suitors,” he wrote.

Everton

Get it done.

We are all crying out for a new attacking signing.

Richarlison was the main talisman of this Everton side, and when things weren’t going well, he was often the man to get the fans on side and the rest of the squad pumped.

Whether it was a big tackle, a moment of skill or a goal, it was often the Brazilian or Anthony Gordon.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not been able to find that rhythm over the past year though, so a new attacking star is desperately needed to kick us back into life.

Missing out on Jesse Lingard wouldn’t be the worst though, we don’t think he fits that category, even though his free-agent status would be a very attractive proposition for Farhad Moshiri.

This is one to watch in the coming days with a new addition desperately courted before the USA trip, but as things stand, it looks highly unlikely – with multiple signings still needed.
