Anthony Gordon will not force Everton exit for Spurs despite Champions League aspirations

Anthony Gordon is unlikely to force an Everton exit this summer despite his ambitions to play in the Champions League.

According to the Journal on July 13, he is said to fancy a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but will not push for an exit from Goodison Park.

The Toffees have also handed him the number 10 jersey and are going to do everything they can to keep him at the club.

No chance of him leaving

Over the last 12 months, Gordon has grown from being a bright prospect in the academy to one of the manager’s first names on the team sheet.

Given the lack of investment last summer, the Englishman was promoted up the ranks by default and he’s certainly seized his opportunity.

He was admired by Rafa Benitez and has been doing wonders under the stewardship of Frank Lampard as well.

His performances for Everton have seen him become an extremely popular figure among the Goodison Park faithful.

Losing him would be devastating for the fanbase as well and Gordon clearly would not want to burn any bridges with them.

He is unlikely to be the key figure at either Spurs or Newcastle while he knows that Lampard is going to make him front and centre of his entire rebuild this summer.

There even were murmurs of the North London side buying him and loaning him back to Everton for next season, but that does not seem likely as of now with Lampard clarifying his stance once again.
