Everton must keep Ellis Simms as he can make impact in 22/23
While Everton were struggling to keep their heads above water last season, one Toffee was thriving out on loan and is ready to make an impact.
Ellis Simms was sent up to Scotland in January where he joined Hearts in the Scottish Premiership and scored seven goals as he helped the Jam Tarts to the Scottish Cup final and third in the league, qualifying for continental football.
He has since returned to Finch Farm and will join Frank Lampard’s senior squad for their pre-season tour of the United States of America where he will fight for his place in the Everton side.

After a successful campaign in Scotland, it is perhaps no surprise that Hearts are interested in signing him again but Rangers have also shown a keen interest in the 21-year-old, as reported by The 4th Official.
But while Ibrox, in particular, may entice Simms, Everton must do everything in their power to deny any approaches for their hotshot striker because the 2022-23 season could be his season to shine at Goodison Park.
Richarlison’s exit for Tottenham Hotspur has seen a gap open up in the attacking department that Simms has to fill and can do so if Lampard is brave enough to give him the chance.

The boss proved while at Chelsea and Derby County that he is willing to give the youth of whatever club he is managing a chance and he cannot afford to not do that for Simms and others at Finch Farm too.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin failed to reach his best last season after a long injury layoff and we need to have another striker ready to go behind him should he start this season the way he ended last.
The last thing we need to do right now is get rid of such a talented and prolific young striker when there is not much in the way of backup elsewhere.
