Frank Lampard opens up on future of Everton star Anthony Gordon amid links from Newcastle, Spurs
Everton manager Frank Lampard has stated that star winger Anthony Gordon “is going nowhere” despite interest from a number of clubs in the country.
The 21-year-old has been attracting interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United for a move in the ongoing transfer window [Chronicle].
Lampard was quoted in a report by Evening Standard where he reiterated his desire and build the squad around Gordon.

“You’ve got to work to get the No.10 shirt and Anthony has earned it,” said Lampard. “He gives everything and is going nowhere. He is our player and we want to build with him.”
Everton’s Future
Everton are coming off the back of a poor campaign where they narrowly managed to escape relegation on matchday 37.
The last thing the Toffees need to make things worse is losing key players ahead of the next campaign which would definitely make things more difficult for manager Lampard.
With Richarlison having already left the club and joined Tottenham Hotspur, it was important for Everton to keep hold of someone like Gordon who has the ability to become the next big thing in the years to come.

Therefore, the words of Lampard will be a big sigh of relief for the fans of the Merseyside club who would’ve been dreading about losing another key player in the ongoing transfer window.
In the previous campaign, Gordon was one of the best players for Everton where in 40 appearances in all competitions, he managed to score four times and provided three assists [Transfermarkt].
